Private social game, Private beta

Hālo

One prompt, real friends, the real social network.

The Hālo landing page with the headline “Only winners get to post.” and a beta-code sign-in form.

Overview

Hālo is a private social game built around real friend groups. Each day, the group gets one prompt, everyone enters with a photo, friends react and compete, and only the winning Hālo becomes part of the group’s permanent history.

The challenge

Social platforms have become better at serving content than strengthening friendships. Hālo explores a different model: fewer posts, more participation, shared rituals, competition, conversation and memories created with people you actually know.

What Luke did

Luke developed the concept, product direction and beta experience for Hālo, then built and tested the platform with real friend groups. The work spans product strategy, game mechanics, UX, branding, prompt systems and the live web beta.

Outcome

Hālo is now live in private beta at hālo.world. Real groups are testing daily prompts, photo entries, rankings, Credits, reactions, group chat and evolving formats such as timed reveals, voting and weekly competition.

Status

Private beta — live product testing, iteration and feature development.
